Personalised Politics

Hi All

I have read a statement by the Hunt Saboteurs Association specifically with respect to the sab groups near the propsed culling areas where gun touting bastards are going to kill badgers for the next 4 YEARS.

The sheer volume of support for badgers and stopping the cull is so overwhelming that any right minded person would think to themselves "hang on, we could really be doing ourselves serious damage here", but not the Tories.

From http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/9549301/Saboteurs-aim-to-wreck-first-badger-cull.html, some of the responses have been very good such as the ones depicted down below.

Do badgers give TB to cattle? Cattle give TB to cattle and there is a strong case for saying - cattle give TB to badgers. When badgers and Cattle in the same area have TB, it is not proof that the badgers infected the cattle. Very few badgers in fact have TB. Of those that have, fewer still are infectious. Infectious badgers or cattle pass the bacteria out through their urine, faeces, or even their breath. These bacteria can then be picked up by other animals. The scope for passing on the infection in pasture shared by badgers and cattle is clear, but as is pointed out above, tens of thousands of badgers killed in the last 30 years or so has to be looked at against the statistic that TB in cattle in the same period has increased.
At last we seem to have reached the stage where the decision-makers can see that all the killing has proved is that killing badgers is not the solution. Other issues that have to be addressed include the quality of animal husbandry practised by some farmers. If this is of a poor standard it can allow badgers into farm buildings, water troughs, cattle feed areas and so on.

In December 2005 the government announced new measures to tackle TB in cattle and this included a twelve week consultation on badger culling. The outcome was remarkable. There were 47,000 responses via letter and e-mail, thirteen petitions against a cull containing 12,100 signatures and there were 10,000 text messages. Of those numbers 4% of the total supported a cull, 0.4% were neutral, and 95.6% (45,415) were against a cull. Authoritative organisations such as The Mammal Society, Woodland Trust, The Royal Society, RSPCA, and Wildlife Trusts expressed their grave reservations about culling.

The SHEER amount of scientific evidence in which the government is flying in the face of, astounds me even being a tory government - I was so happy I didn't vote scum tory.  The Kreb's trials which went on for decades showed that badgers do not infect cattle with bovine TB.  Scientific paper after scientific paper has published results which state categorically that a cull will only make the situation worse and that vaccination is the best way forward.  Even when yours truly was out in the killing fields years ago to stop the trapping and shooting of badgers, one of our number's brother (who is a microbiologist) was approached by DEFRA about incubation times of bovine TB in soil because and I state what was said to the microbiologist from DEFRA members "we have not found anything to suggest that badgers give TB to cattle, so we are now thinking that it is (bTB) in the soil and lasts longer than anticipated".

The truly worrying factors in this report come from statements given by the fucking piece of shit minister in charge of murdering thousands of badgers PRO HUNT Owen "I even look like a badger baiter" Paterson

It was reported in the paper that "he hoped that the four-year pilot in Gloucestershire would lead to a nationwide cull".  Oh is it major tinitus or are fucking HUGE ALARM BELLS RINGING?!??!!?!? How the fuck can this prick say something like that and show he is only interested in finding a solution to the bovine TB problem?  The article also stated that "Mr Paterson is a long-standing advocate of culling, arguing that, as well as sparing cattle, killing can also save badgers from suffering the effects of TB. The minister, appointed earlier this month, kept two badgers, Bessie and Baz, as pets when he was a child", ah bless that's alright then isn't it?!  He liked badgers as a child - no doubt when he was first introduced into the sinister world of baiting them but now not so liking of them.  He was chosen earlier this month to fill the post of Environment Secretary and there is NO DOUBT WHY....because he is shittier than the collective sewerage system of this WHOLE COUNTRY.

He's pro culling, he hopes that badger culling will become nationwide and he is a pathetic lackie for David Bastaron to pull strings.

In the article it said that sabs and protesters will face charges made against them from the bum chums of the government - the police....NOW THERE'S A SURPRISE! I bet you £50 that the policing for the gun touting badger killers will be huge, why not the same against hunts breaking the law?!

And the final question rests with WHY?  An easy one to answer, THE TORIES HAVE ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS BE CONCERNED WITH PERSONALISED POLITICS - politics which serve them and their friends e.g. Cameron loves hunting - wants a law repeal. Minister for Education (good friend of Cameron) - Intent on running down stressed teachers and sacking them. Environment Minister - No idea about science but wants to kill badgers against overwhelming support for vaccination. The head of the hunt repeal committee - Cameron's father-in-law and master of foxhounds etc. the fucking list just goes on and on and on and on.

Badgers have lived in the countryside for at least hundreds (if not thousands) of years, why is bovine TB being flagged up now (recent times also going back a few decades)?  Could it be due to the fact that intensive farming is to blame (introduced decades ago)?  Could it be due to the fact that a lot of farms are in a total disgusting shit state and equally the animals?  Could it be due to the fact that farmers are lazy and do not know the meaning of animal husbandry?

STOP THE CULL LISTEN TO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE - who is running this country?  Farmers or Government?

For the badger
